What age should I start training my dog?

I like to get dogs started at about 3- 1/2 months of age. If you think that there's an issue with your younger pup, let us know. Sometimes just an email or phone call will resolve the issue, while sometimes setting up an appointment is necessary.

What are the benefits of in-home training?

First, we come to you so you don't have to worry about driving anywhere. We also see where the problems are so we can remedy a solution.

When are you available for training?

Monday Through Thurs 9a to 7p

Do I need to sign up for 10 weeks right away, and/or pay the entire fee up-front?

Absolutely not! Our typical obedience course is 6 weeks long.

Happy with the results after 3 weeks? Great! We'll stop then. We also have you pay by the class so no need to worry about making a large payment.

I want my kids involved in my dog’s training…

Me too. I find that kids 8 and above can be effective with training.

Who else can attend the training sessions?

If they are involved in your dogs life, have them come to training.

But the other dog trainer said to only have one person work with my dog…

Which is great until the person has to leave the house. Wouldn't it be nicer if your pet listened to everyone?

What type of experience do you have?

I have heard people say that they are a certified dog trainer. What does that mean?

That's an excellent question!

First, you can be certified from the school you attended. This is what most people mean.

However, there are also national groups which, over the years, have tried to standardize training methods. While the courses offered by these groups are becoming more popular, they haven't quite gotten to the point that a certification from this method is a guarantee of quality.

What type of behavioral problems do you deal with?

Housebreaking to aggression and all points in between!

I did not like the way the last trainer handled my dog, or me for that matter.

Me neither. My philosophy is that that each owner and pet should be treated with respect. Each person and pet is different, so my style is different for each person/pet. We all have different goals in life, and I promise you that you and your dog won't be put into a cookie cutter program
